Changes are happening at Wertime & Guyer LLC

David C. Wertime, Esquire, and J. Dennis Guyer, Esquire, of the law firm of Wertime & Guyer LLP, are pleased to announce a merger with Gómez Law Office, LLC, effective June 30.  The combined firm will offer clients full service resources concentrating in elder planning, estate and trust planning and administration, business and real estate law, immigration law, divorce, custody, and support.

The merger marks a strategic step forward with the new firm continuing under the name of Wertime & Gómez LLP. As Annie R. Gómez Shockey, Esquire, joins the firm, Guyer has retired.

Guyer is a graduate of Dickinson College and Washington and Lee University School of Law.  He is licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania. He joined Rudolf M. Wertime as an associate in 1972 and became his partner in 1973. Throughout the years of his practice Guyer has represented individuals, businesses, municipalities and charitable organizations, and has served as an assistant District Attorney for Franklin County. His primary areas of practice are business, estate and trust planning and administration, real estate and family law.

The merger

Wertime is a native of the Greencastle and Antrim community. He graduated from Wittenberg University and the Ohio Northern University Pettit College of Law.Wertime began the practice of law in 1984 and has been a partner with Guyer since 1992. Wertime's primary areas of practice are elder planning, estate and trust planning and administration, and business and real estate law.

I look forward to supporting and expanding the services provided to my clients with the deeper resources of Wertime & Guyer LLP,” said Gómez Shockey, a native of Waynesboro who has been serving clients in the area of family law since 2008 and immigration law since 2013.

Gómez Shockey is a graduate of Shepherd University and the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. She is licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania and West Virginia, and is a member of the American Bar Association, Pennsylvania Bar Association, the West Virginia State Bar, the Franklin County Bar Association, and the American Immigration Lawyers Association.

She has practiced in Franklin County since 2008, opened Gómez Law Office LLC in Chambersburg in 2013, and serves English and Spanish speaking clients. Her primary areas of practice are family law and immigration law.

Locations

Wertime & Gómez LLP will maintain offices in Greencastle and Chambersburg. The current location of Wertime & Guyer LLP at 35 N. Carlisle St., Suite A, Greencastle, is where Wertime & Gómez LLP will remain. The Chambersburg office will be located at 14 N. Main St., Suite 309.
