Pork and sauerkraut dinner

Grace United Church of Christ, 128 E. Baltimore St., Greencastle, will hold a pork and sauerkraut dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, March 19, in the church social hall.

The menu will consist of pork and sauerkraut, hot dogs, mashed potatoes, rolls and butter, applesauce, desserts and beverages.

The cost of the meal will be $8 for adults and $4 for youths 4 to 12. Three and under are free.

Carryout orders will be available upon request.

In addition, a bake table will be available for the purchase of homemade baked goods.

The public is invited to attend.

Proceeds from the dinner will benefit the Graceful Walkers team for the May Relay for Life event in Greencastle.

Swing into Spring picnic/auction

The Common Ground youth group at Otterbein United Brethren Church will hold a Swing into Spring picnic/auction from 5 to 9 p.m. March 19 at the church, 146 Leitersburg St.

The auction will feature items and services. There will be a cake walk and a pastor pie duel.

Advance tickets are available at $8 for adults and $5 for 12 and under by calling 597-8525. Ticket prices at the door are $10 for adults or $7 for 12 and under.

Hound Hunt

CHAMBERSBURG -- The Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter will hold their third annual Easter Hound Hunt at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 20, at the shelter, 5051 Letterkenny Road West.

Registration will be at 1 p.m. or prior to the event at cvas-pets.org.

Thousands of plastic Easter eggs will be stuffed with dog treats and participants are asked to bring their dogs for the hunt. Specially marked eggs can be redeemed for prizes.

Cost for participation is a minimum $5 donation to the shelter.

Following the hunt, the shelter will hold an Easter bonnet contest. First, second and third place prizes will be awarded.

Easter photos will also be taken by donation.
