G-AMS spring concert to feature four groups

Greencastle-Antrim Middle School instrumentalists will perform their spring concert at 7 p.m. Monday, May 2,  in the high school auditorium.

The concert is free and open to the public.

The Sixth Grade Band, conducted by Alyson Balascik, will begin the concert with the well-known Mozart favorite, “Eine Kleine Nachtmusik”, followed by “The Two Minute Symphony.” A transcription of the famous Beethoven piece “Adagio Cantabile” will be performed before the group finishes their portion of the concert with an exciting and mysterious piece called, “Dark Adventure.”

The Middle School Jazz Band, directed by Eric J. Plum, will perform a variety of jazz charts.

The Middle School Indoor Percussion Ensemble, directed by Brock Bricker, will perform “A Young Person's Guide to the Galaxy.”

The Greencastle-Antrim Middle School Band, conducted by Plum, will be the final group to perform in the concert. The first four pieces are “The City of Lights”, “Fire Dance”, “All the Pretty Little Horses” and “H2Overture”. The 2015 drum major, Kira Bosko, will conduct the band during “Johnny B. Goode” before the band finishes the concert with “Pennsylvania Polka”.
