If you’ve never been to the Antrim Township Community Park, now is certainly the time. Afterall, it’s a spectacular facility — and you paid for it.

There’s no doubt that the park located at 12315 Grant Shook Road is a facility for citizens of the township to be proud of. Plans for the park date back to 1995. Sixteen years later the park boasts a plethora of outdoor opportunities.

There are soccer fields, softball fields, baseball fields, multi-purpose fields, a disc golf course, pavilions, a gazebo, walking and hiking trails, playground areas, a concession stand and tennis courts under construction, and restrooms. A dog run is being considered as a future addition. The park is located adjacent to the historic Martin’s Mill Coverage Bridge and a favorite township recreational resource in the Conococheague. So you see, it’s a tremendous facility.

And whether it was landfill payments made under the township agreement or state or federal grants which paid for this park, you have funded it. It’s yours to enjoy. Even if the grand facility is not in your end of the township, take some time this Saturday to check it out. An open house will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Take a look and use the facilities. There will also be extra activities. It’s your park, enjoy!
